What?

The Last Panel In reserves the final spot at SXSW Interactive for a timely topic chosen by community vote early 2010.

With enough support from community members like you, we wil start topic discussion immediately on this site. In late 2009 we'll set the list of candiate topics, commence community voting, and assemble possible speakers. In early 2010, the polls will close and the panel topic will be finalized.

» Why do this?

Why?

SXSW is the most popular tech conference in the world. With that standing comes the daunting task of whittling thousands of submitted panel ideas into just four days of panels. The millions of moving parts in any major conference necessitates planning for next year as soon as the prior year is complete, and deciding the panel list many months in advance.

We hope to complement SXSW's Herculean efforts by reserving one panel whose topic will be decided in early 2010 by popular vote.

In late 2009 we'll set the list of candiate topics, commence community voting, and assemble possible speakers. In early 2010, the polls will close and the panel topic will be finalized. Please help us get the word out via Facebook, Twitter, or any other place geeks hang out.

» How does the selection process work?

How?

The discussion will begin this year as we choose the general topics we feel will be the most compelling. Near the end of 2009 we will host polls to whittle down our lists and create a final list of 8 panels. In early 2010 we will hold the final poll and select the topic of The Last Panel In.
